| The property from Creta street included at its completion time (1996) two apartments, belonging to different families. With the subsequent unification of the property, an intervention had to be made to redevelop the interior living area from the second floor, done by the architect of the building.
The chromatic range, in which the project was designed, remains within an intimate sphere and good taste. Warm shades, natural finishing materials corresponding to definite volumetric gestures in a coherent composition followed on all the surfaces involved in the spaciousness of a room.
Thus, the horizontal element of the bar – a wooden board held, despite its massiveness, by a transparent plexiglass |
plan – continues vertically, forming a three-dimensional “L” shape and then proceeding on the floor’s level through a stripe that closes the composition.
The reconfiguration of the fireplace was made through a defeat of the gravitational superstitions of the objective reality. The heavy prismatic volume that closes the necessary mechanism for ventilation seems like it would be floating, as an emanation of the walls that delineate it on two sides. The same attention to continuity can be noticed in the extension of the coffee-colored frame that closes the fireplace sideways on the vertical and then on the soffit, but also horizontally, at average quote, creating a support element for the television.
